Spanish for Educators
Intensive Spanish for Educators is specifically designed to give teachers, principals, social workers, counselors, and other personnel working in a school or district, the ability to better communicate with Latino students and their families in Spanish.
Focus is put, not only on the Language aspect but upon creating a better cultural understanding of Latino students and their families living in the United States. In addition to learning academic Spanish, educators will learn popular expressions used by their students and families. Opportunities to visit schools in rural and urban settings will also be included in the experience.

We are aware that learning Spanish in the United States can be difficult with the heavy workload that most school personnel carry. With a total immersion approach, this learning process can be accelerated as well as enlightening as you experience the Spanish culture firsthand.
Visiting a foreign country to study its language can be an overwhelming experience for even the most seasoned traveler. However, when the school you attend is Casa Xelajú, all of your fears and worries seem to go away.
Casa Xelajú is a superior Spanish school. Its faculty and staff make your stay comfortable and your language learning fun. The school has a genuine interest in your assimilation into the language and culture of Guatemala.
Tuition does not include airfare from EEUU to Guatemala and tips. You should arrive in Guatemala City on Sunday at noon. For returning to EEUU, you should schedule a flight afternoon. Our bus will be at the airport waiting for you. We are planning to leave the airport at 2:00 PM.
Tuition ($1,750 for three weeks and $1,167.00 for two weeks includes: Homestay with a local family, three meals a day, your own bedroom, all ground transportation during the trip, all the hotels, breakfast during the excursions, five hours of Spanish instructions a day, daily social and cultural activities including field trips, excursions, access to parks and museums.
When you apply online, please mail out a check for $200.00 to our office in Minneapolis. Talk to your chaperone or office for a payment schedule. This deposit will be part of your tuition.
All the educational trips last three weeks and two weeks.
