At the end of three weeks of intensive Spanish in Quetzaltenango,  Guatemala, school administrators will be able to have a better cultural and social understanding of the parents of ELL students from Latin America and the typical educational expectations of Latin American schools.

Learning a second language in the United States can be difficult with the heavy workload that most school personnel carry. With a total immersion approach, this learning process can be accelerated as well as enlightening as you experience the Spanish culture firsthand.

Besides having classes five hours a day, five days a week with a ratio of three school administrators per teacher, Casa Xelaju has scheduled daily cultural, educative and social activities which will help to understand the culture of Latin America but also how the school system works in Guatemala.

School administrators will have the opportunity to travel in the country, visit schools, have discussions and presentations with superintendents, principals and teachers, and observe classes in urban and rural schools.

Visiting a foreign country to study its language can be an overwhelming experience for even the most seasoned traveler. However, when the school you attend is Casa Xelajú, all of your fears and worries will go away.

Casa Xelajú is a superior  school. Its faculty and staff make your stay comfortable, your language learning fun, and the school has a genuine interest in your assimilation into the language and culture of its country.

Tuition is $1,750.00 per three weeks which includes homestay with a local family, three meals a day, your own bedroom, five hours of Spanish instructions, twenty-five hours a week, daily cultural and social activities in the country, ground transportation through the three weeks, admission to parks, tour guide, lectures, hotels, breakfast during field trips and excursions, boat trips.

It does not include airfare from your city To Guatemala City, lunches and dinners during the field trips and excursions, travel insurance, and paperwork if you are looking for college credits ($15.00).

Tuition includes 3 meals a day, 5 hours of Spanish instruction a day, own bedroom, hotels  (shared rooms) during excursions, translations, fees to access parks and museums, private transportation during the trip, breakfasts during excursions, boat to cross Lake Atitlan, daily social and cultural activities.

Please mail out the $200.00 deposit as initial payment.  After that, you should talk to your chaperone or our office about the payment schedule.

You should arrive on Sunday at noon at Guatemala City airport. Our bus will be there waiting for students. We will be leaving at 2:30 PM.
